On my way to class from the post-office at 104th, I stopped in at this bakery for breakfast and coffee. It was a pleasant surprise for me, being a brioche-lover, as they had at least six kinds of brioche! After much debate, I settled on the cream cheese & currant (although the “brioche du jour” peach brioche was tempting), which turned out to be tasty, if a little pricey ($2+). I wouldn’t say it was the most amazing brioche I’ve ever had, but it was good, and the variety was a nice touch. The cafe itself is cute, but with waitered tables; still people were sitting outside and reading, typing on laptops, which is my kind of cafe atmosphere. I do believe that to celebrate the end of my class and/or the submission of x secondaries, I will have to return and sample another brioche as a reward! (Also I had a lovely walk from here up to Columbia.)

ooh that sounds delicious and a good place to hang out. laptops and waitered tables? that’s a good combination for wanting to hang out all day. but $2 doesn’t sound all that expensive, unless they’re tiny?
