4 Clinton Street, btwn E Houston and Stanton
Today I FINALLY made it out to clinton st baking co, which i have been dreaming about for months. Katie and I got there at 9:40 per my sister’s recommendation for getting seated at 10. It worked perfectly! After much much debate (everything on the menu looked appealing), I settled on getting their famous pancakes ($11), even though I almost never get pancakes for brunch. I opted for wild blueberry and they were delicious! The best part was the syrup, which we decided had a nutty, butterscotch, caramel flavor; much more delicious than traditional aunt jemima-flavored syrup. Katie went for the savory farmer’s frittata of summer veggies and goat cheese, along with a side of buttermilk biscuit with raspberry jam. Both were very good, and the frittata came in a cute little cast iron pan. Her latte also looked delicious. Overall, highly recommended brunch spot – I will definitely be returning to try everything else on their menu! The brioche french toast in particular looked delicious on the tables next to us, as well as some of their savory entrees like the soft-shell crab salad (which kind of grossed katie out).
